Cigarettes and alcohol stolen in late-night raid at village stores

THIEVES stole alcohol and cigarettes from a Poundbury shop after a late-night raid.

The incident unfolded at the Spar shop in Middlemarsh Street, otherwise known as Poundbury Village Stores, at around 2.20am on Sunday, June 7.

Dorset Police said it was reported “a man smashed the glass front door” of the shop before stealing the goods.

PC Ben Hannigan, of County LPA, said: “We have carried out house-to-house enquiries in relation to this incident and would ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything at the relevant time to please come forward.

“I would also ask any nearby residents to check their home CCTV camera and any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have captured anything on dashcam to please get in touch.”
