CHRISTMAS lights in Shepton Mallet will be accompanied by a festive night market when they’re switched on next Friday (December 1).
Taking place between 5pm and 8pm, the high street will be taken over by seasonal vendors for an evening of exciting festivities.
Children will get the chance to meet Santa in his grotto and take part in Christmas-themed craft workshops, with the card competition winner awarded the privilege of turning on the lights.

Hot food and drinks will also be available, with a range of local bands providing entertainment for all ages.
