CCTV appeal after woman stole bottles from Asda in Gillingham

A WOMAN stole bottles of alcoholic drinks from Asda in Gillingham.

Police have released a CCTV image of a person they would like to trace on connection with the incident, at around 3.15pm on Monday, May 6.

The theft occurred at Asda, in Station Road, police said, after staff saw a woman steal bottles.

“When she was challenged by staff inside the store, she threw one of the bottles toward a staff member, but it did not make contact,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“She was challenged again by staff outside the store and threatened them before making off from the scene.”

PC Lily Cambridge-King, of Dorset Police, said: “We take reports of violence toward retail staff very seriously and we are carrying out a full investigation into this matter.

“I am now in a position to issue an image of a woman we are looking to identify as part of our ongoing enquiries, and I would urge anyone who recognises her to please get in touch.”
