Cannabis seized and man arrested in Sherborne drug dealing crackdown

A MAN has been arrested after police executed four warrants in Sherborne at addresses linked to suspected drug dealing.

Yesterday morning (March 13) Dorset Police simultaneously entered addresses in Amor’s Drove and Lenthay Road and conducted warrants under section eight of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

In one of the addresses, suspected class A and B drugs and cash were found, and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and class B, as well as a money laundering offence.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.

Quantities of suspected cannabis were located inside other addresses, and further enquiries will be carried out.

Sergeant Mike Brown, of Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The activity from this day serves as a strong reminder to anyone involved in suspected drug-related activity that we will take action.

“Cracking down on the reported supply of drugs in our area will always be a priority and something we are working to tackle all year round.

“One of our main aims of the day was to disrupt any suspected illegal activity and ensure that drugs have no place in Sherborne.

“Our enquiries will continue as we investigate any potential offences linked to these warrants.

“Information from the community is invaluable in helping us to tackle offending – we would continue to urge any members of the public with information relating to suspected drug related activity to please report it to us.”
