CADE Robert David Adams from Bridport has been handed a 14-month sentence following a series of assaults across West Dorset.
One of the assaults saw Adams, 20, headbutt a police officer who tried to detain him.
Police were called to Court Close in Bridport on September 21, 2024 at around 10.30pm after a man was seen with a golf club, with reports that a man caused damage to a garden fence.
Officers arrived, arresting Adams, but he became violent and assaulted three officers by headbutting and kicking them.

The defendant was charged with criminal damage, disorderly behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
The court also heard how officers were called to South Street in Bridport on January 10, 2024 at around 10.20pm following reports a man was seen chasing another man with a knife and that a man sustained a head injury.
“Officers attended and Adams was detained at the scene,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
“He was later charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, assault by beating and threatening behaviour – fear or provocation of violence.”
A further incident occurred around 8pm on May 21, 2024 when Adams assaulted another man in the area of George Street in West Bay by punching and kicking him.
He also assaulted a police officer while being detained.
Adams was arrested and later charged with assault by beating and assaulting an emergency worker.
As well as serving time in custody, Adams will also be subject to a criminal behaviour order for three years, excluding him from entering East Street, West Street and South Street in Bridport between the hours of 10pm and 6am daily, and entering any licensed premises that are part of the Bridport Pubwatch scheme.
Sergeant Mike Brown, of Dorset Police, said: “We take reports of violence and public disorder on our streets extremely seriously as we recognise the impact crimes of this nature have on both victims and residents.
“Adams in particular has caused significant issues for the community of Bridport and his conviction is very much in line with the Force values and priorities.
“We are committed to targeting offenders such as Adams, holding those responsible for initiating the violence to account, and sending a message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
