Busy Dorchester road closed after car fire

A BUSY Dorchester road was closed this morning after a car caught fire.

The A35 near the Stinsford roundabout was shut at around 8.30am as firefighters from the town dealt with the ‘small fire’.

“Upon arrival the vehicle was well alight and was extinguished using two hose-reel jets by a team of breathing apparatus wearers,” a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“We would like to thank members of the public with their patience as we had to close the road to safety deal with this incident.”
