Boy, 11, on scooter injured after crash in Glastonbury street

AN 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Glastonbury.

The youngster was on a scooter in Old Wells Road at around 2.30pm on Friday, August 11, when he collided with a blue Suzuki Vitara.

“The boy sustained multiple injuries, thankfully none were serious, but was taken to hospital for treatment, he was released to recover at home later that day,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“The Suzuki is thought to have left the scene without stopping.

“We are appealing for the driver of the Suzuki to come forward, or for anyone who witnessed the collision or have any relevant footage, to contact us.”
