Best places to live in Dorset ranked: Full list

DORSET has an abundance of picturesque towns and villages – but a new list has ranked the very best towns and villages for people to live in.

Muddy Stilettos has released its 2025 ranking, with each area voted for using an online poll and recommendations.

Sherborne has come out on top, with the picture postcard town boasting a strong selection of indie shops, restaurants and state of the art schools.

It is home to several Michelin-listed eateries – from a taste of the Mediterranean at The Green, and a more modern British approach at The Clockspire just outside of town.

Wimborne, described as a bustling town with pretty streets and independent shops, clinches second place while Mudeford comes in third.
