Arrest made after aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis

POLICE have arrested a man in his 30s following an aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis.

A man gained access to an address in Poole’s Court and assaulted the occupant shortly after 9pm on Saturday, January 3.

The offender left the premises and is not believed to have stolen anything.

The victim was taken to hospital after sustaining several facial fractures.

Following detailed enquiries by Dorset County CID, a man aged in his 30s from Axminster in Devon was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

He has been released on bail.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information relating to the incident to contact them, either online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260001182.
