Arrest after Shaftesbury crash leaves woman with ‘serious injuries’

A MAN was arrested after a crash near Shaftesbury which saw a woman airlifted to hospital with ‘serious injuries’.

The incident, involving three cars, happened on the A350 near the Littledown Business Park at around 3.08pm yesterday (Thursday, May 25).

Police, fire and ambulance crews were sent to the scene and a female driver – a woman in her 30s – was flown to hospital with serious injuries. The other drivers received minor injuries.

A 39-year-old man from Hastings, Sussex, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released on bail. Road closures were put in place as an investigation was launched.

Sergeant Chris Brolan, of Dorset Police’s Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who has captured it on dashcam to please come forward as this might assist our investigation.

“Also, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding during the extended road closure.”
