Arrest after alleged threats with a knife in Dorset Wetherspoons pub

A MAN reportedly threatened other drinkers with a knife at a Dorset Wetherspoons pub.

Dorset Police detectives are investigating a disturbance at The Greyhound pub, in East Street, Bridport, which occurred at around 10.25pm last night (Friday, September 8).

A 28-year-old man, from the Bridport area, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill.

A knife was seized, police said, and no one sustained any injuries.

Detective Inspector Rhys Griffiths, of County CID, said: “We have already spoken to a number of people who witnessed this incident in a bid to establish the circumstances.

“As part of these enquiries I am aware that there were other people who saw what happened and I would ask them to please get in touch with us.”
