Following reports from locals, officers from the Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team went to an address in Bothenhampton at around 10am on Thursday, September 26.

“Around 300 suspected cannabis plants were located, as well as cannabis cultivation equipment,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

A 17-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a controlled class B drug and released under investigation.

A 21-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence and released on police bail while enquiries continue.

An investigation is ongoing into the incident, led by detectives from Dorset County CID.

PC Paul Miners, of Bridport police, said: “We responded to information received, which resulted in us discovering a suspected cannabis factory.

“We will continue to do all we can to tackle the suspected supply of illegal drugs in our communities as we recognise the impact drug-related activity has on residents and visitors.”
