Appeal over alleged assault after Yeovil crash

A CRASH involving a motorbike and a car in a Yeovil street led to an assault, according to police.

The alleged assault happened in Stiby Road some time between 9pm and 9.30pm, after a collision involving a motorcycle and a black car.

A man needed hospital treatment for facial injuries after the incident, an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.

A man in his 20s was arrested the next day on suspicion of wounding with intent and later released under investigation.

Officers are especially keen to trace a man, pictured, a witness who stopped to help following the collision.

He is described as a white man of large build with short dark hair and was wearing dark-coloured jeans, a dark-coloured short-sleeved top and brown shoes.

Anyone who can identify the person, or has any other information, should contact police on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223115140. They can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
