THE A303 is closed through part of Wiltshire after a serious crash.
A ‘multi-vehicle collision’ has occurred on the eastbound carriageway between the A36 (Deptford) and the Longbarrow roundabout, near Amesbury.
National Highways said Wiltshire Police was on the scene and the eastbound carriageway had been closed.
A spokesperson said the crash had ‘resulted in a significant spillage across the road surface’.
Wiltshire Police said the road was closed between Winterbourne Stoke and Deptford.
“Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries but we have closed the road while an oil spillage is cleared,” a spokesperson said.
“Please find alternative routes and avoid the area.”
