Busy Wincanton road to close for water works – with bus stop changes

A BUSY Somerset road is to close later this month for roadworks – affecting a popular bus route.

Travellers are being warned of disruption when Station Road, in Wincanton, closes between August 17 and 21 to allow Wessex Water to carry out connection works.

Ahead of the closure, bus operator South West Coaches has warned passengers of changes to the 667 service.

“During this closure, services will not serve Mount Carmel School, Station Road, and Wincanton Market Place,” a spokesperson said.

“Passengers can use the alternative stop at Wincanton Memorial Hall.”

Anyone with questions about the bus route in Wincanton should contact South West Coaches on 01935 475872.

“Apologies for the inconvenience,” the spokesperson added.
