POLICE have seized a number of suspected cannabis plants in North Dorset after receiving a tip-off from a sharp-eyed member of the public.
Officers from the Sturminster Newton Neighbourhood Policing Team recovered the plants on Friday following information from what police described as an “eagle-eyed and public spirited” resident.
While police have not revealed the exact location of the discovery, they said enquiries are ongoing to identify who may be responsible.
North Dorset Police thanked the resident who raised the alarm and urged others to come forward if they spot anything suspicious.
Officers reminded residents that cannabis remains illegal and said they would take action where possible against anyone linked to cultivation.
Police also issued a light-hearted warning to anyone claiming ownership of the plants, joking: “If you recognise the plants below and think they may be yours, give me a call, ask for PC560… Soz though, I won’t be giving them back!”
Anyone with information about suspected drug activity can report it to Dorset Police via 101, online, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
