A BIKER in her 60s passed away after a crash on a Somerset road on Sunday afternoon (April 26).
The incident, on the B3148 Rimpton Hill, involved a Honda motorbike and a black BMW 520d and happened just before 3pm.
“The motorcyclist – a woman in her 60s – sadly died at the scene,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“Her next of kin has been notified and are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
“Her family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
They said officers believe the biker was travelling in the direction of the Dorset border at the time of the crash, with the car being driven towards Marston Magna.
“The occupants of the BMW remained at the scene to assist our enquiries,” the spokesperson added.
They urged any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to contact them on 101, quoting reference 5226113859.
