Man to appear in court over crash near Sherborne that killed Yeovil driver

A MAN has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a Yeovil man was killed in a car crash.

The victim, a man in his 20s, died after a crash on the A30 at Babylon Hill, near Sherborne, at just after 4pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

A blue Mini Cooper and a blue Volvo articulated lorry were involved in the incident, near the Marl Lane junction.

The driver of the Mini was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol having sustained serious injuries, but passed away the next day, police said.

Now, police said a 61-year-old man, from Stibbington, Peterborough, will appear at Bournemouth Crown Court charged with causing death by careless and/or inconsiderate driving, on Thursday (September 25).
