THIS weekend will see the return of a popular Somerset car boot sale for a new season.

Haynes Motor Museum will host the first monthly event of 2025 on Saturday (April 5), marking the start of the summer sale season, which runs until October.

The car boot sales will be taking place on the first Saturday of each month, with the exception of September, when it takes place on the 13th due to the set-up of the venue’s inaugural John Haynes Classic Motor Show, taking place on September 7.

Held in the museum’s dedicated outdoor hardstanding events area, the sales are among the largest in the south west region, welcoming up to 500 vehicles.

Car boots offer sellers the chance to clear out unwanted items and make some extra cash in a simple but effective arrangement, allowing for on-the-day arrival and setup without pre-booking, organisers said.

For buyers, the car boot sales are a treasure trove of bargains and unique finds, whether you’re hunting for vintage pieces, rare collectables, or simply a great deal, you’ll find a wide variety of stalls to explore.

“Over the past few years, our previous car boot sales have been a fantastic success, bringing together locals, collectors, and families,” said Liv Fripp, conference and events commercial manager at Haynes Motor Museum.

“We look forward to seeing our space fill with eager buyers and sellers once again. It’s always exciting to see what accessories, collectables, and hidden treasures people bring along, ready for a new home.”

Haynes Motor Museum car boot sale: Opening times, seller fees and entrance fees

Sellers can arrive at the Haynes Motor Museum Car Boot Sale from 7.45am, with admission costing £5 per car.

Buyers can enter from 9am with admission priced at £1 per person to be paid at the gate. Children under 10 go free. There is also the option to enter early from 8.30am, for £5 per person.

The Haynes Motor Museum car boot sales will run each month, from April to October, on the following dates: April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 13, October 4.
