Bridport man, 22, to appear in court over fatal New Year’s Day crash

A 22-YEAR-OLD man is due in court in connection with a fatal crash in West Dorset.

At 1.34pm on January 1, Dorset Police were called to an incident on the A35, near Kingston Russell, involving a silver Kia Sorento, a black Toyota Aygo and a black BMW.

A passenger in the Toyota – an 18-year-old man from Cornwall – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening.

Now, a 22-year-old from Bridport has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 13, to face charges of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for a controlled drug.
